My client, Rachel said something to me recently that I haven’t stopped thinking about: ‘I just don’t feel like myself anymore. Not dramatic… just that constant, nagging feeling that something isn’t right.’
Getting dressed had become stressful, nothing fit anymore, everything was too tight and uncomfortable. By mid-afternoon, she was exhausted… and evenings felt like something to get through, not enjoy.
The hardest part? She was trying, and I mean really trying. Eating well, exercising, being disciplined. Doing everything she thought she should be doing and yet… nothing was shifting.
If anything, she felt worse, more tired, more frustrated, more disconnected from her own body and she kept thinking, ‘maybe I just need to try harder… get up earlier to fit in more exercise, eat less, push more.’
And that’s exactly what was making it worse, her body didn’t need more pressure, it needed a different approach.
Once we made a few key changes, things started to feel very different.
We adjusted how she was eating across the day, took the pressure off constant restriction, and focused on supporting her energy rather than draining it.
Her energy was the first thing to come back. That constant heaviness started to lift, her clothes started to fit properly again, and for the first time in years, she was able to wear her favourite pair of jeans. More importantly, she felt like she actually understood what her body needed. Not perfectly, and not overnight, but enough to feel back in control again.
